Getting the word Out There – new anthology released


A new anthology of Scottish LGBTI writing, Out There will be launched in Glasgow this Sunday with a special event at Pride House. Its editor, Zoë Strachan, will introduce readings from contributing authors Jackie Kay, Louise Welsh, Kirsty Logan, Allan Radcliffe and Ryan Vance.

Winner of a Herald Angel award for her opera, The Lady from the Sea, Strachan is also known as a novelist. Her tale of a passionate student relationship and its consequences in later life, Ever Fallen in Love, won critical attention in 2011. Kay is a former winner of the Scottish Book of the Year Award and Welsh, Strachan’s partner is a prolific novelist also known for her radio work.

Logan published her début novel, The Rental Heart & Other Fairytales, earlier this year. Radcliffe is a short story writer and theatre critic, and Vance is editor of The Queen’s Head.

The Pride House event is free to attend.
